Agnes looks a lot like Tobi. She has the same height, the same broad shoulders, the same muscular frame, the same freckles and crooked nose. Her teeth are much sharper though and look like they could cut through bone. Her hair has been shaved on the sides into a mohawk so while it has the height of Tobi’s curly hair, it’s only in the middle. Her own pale grey eyes seem sharper than Tobi’s tired pair.

She’s the Spirit of Shenandoah. She can shift into the form of a gigantic, deer like monster about 20 feet high. She’s massively strong in this form, very fast, and can easily maneuver through trees and forested areas. Agnes is able to shift on a scale between forms, and the more shifted she is the stronger she gets.

Tobi’s Ma is otherworldly in her appearance. There’s something about her that never feels quite right or quite human. She’s very tall and graceful in her movement, and prefers to walk barefoot most of the time. Her hair is cropped short and cut in short chunks. Feathers cover her neck and shoulders and flare up and out around her jaw. The sclera of her eyes are a dark blue, almost black, while the irises are the same pale grey as her children. Her gaze is intense, to say the least.

It’s unknown what her mutation actually is. It’s presumed she can travel with the breeze, she’s been seen dissolving into leaves, and her laugh has echoed in the environment which feels a lot like Tobi’s own power. Flowers bloom and wilt at her feet as she walks, and she’s also been observed using which looks like light to heal wounds and injuries.
She’s able to navigate her way flawlessly through wooded areas, is stronger the older the forest around her is, and is heckin’ good at crafts.

Detailed Physical Description:

Tobi’s Pa is a mountain. He’s a massive presence in both mind and body. This is where the twins got their broad frame and thick curly hair. His hair is kept long and falls to about the middle of his back. He has a scruffy beard, a face marked with age and hard work, and a large broad nose. His eyes are tired but warm and a deep blue.

He’s a much, much bigger version of Agnes’s power. It’s unknown how big he can get, but the twins are most familiar with him being around four stories tall, or about 40 to 50 feet high. Fog follows his large form, so what most people see when he’s in this form is a pair of luminescent eyes set 40 feet in the air. He’s terrifyingly strong in this form, though not as fast as his daughter. His antlers could carve paths in mountains and his steps could shake the earth should he choose to.

Some cryptid hunters do mention him in passing, though generally in warning. He doesn’t take kindly to people encroaching on his family.

Her thin face is free of freckles and blemishes, and her features are modelesque- high cheekbones, full lips, defined jaw, a delicate button nose. Her eyes are also wide and coffee brown, but with flecks of lighter golden brown that give them a warm and friendly gaze. She also has smile lines around her eyes and mouth, that accentuate her overall gracious and cheerful attitude.

Detailed Physical Description: Joy is at an age where she is all elbows and angles- She is bony and thin, her head almost too big for her body. Her hair is short and dark brown like her mother's, and it is nearly always worn in two low pigtails. Her pale face is dotted with dark freckles. Her eyes are cat-like in shape and a golden hazel. Her face is complete with round cheeks, a button nose, and full lips. Should be noted at Noelle is quite athletic- she loves to climb and run.

On her arms, Joy has spines very similar to a porcupine. When dormant, they lay flat and into her skin, but as she gets distressed, the extend outwards to about 6-8 inches. While also in distress, spines grow everywhere on her legs, arms, back, and neck. She also has the ability to shoot them as projectiles at targets, although her aim is a little off right now.

Mckay carries himself with a dignity and distinction he’s earned from his multitude of years. The man seems to have stopped aging at around forty something years old, but his hair is a platinum sliver while his eyes are a bright, sharp blue. He’s always impeccably dressed and perfectly styled, with never a hair out of place unless he put it there. He wears silver framed glasses and a platinum band on his ring finger. Underneath his collared shirts and expensive suits, he’s heavily tattooed in various patterns and designs. Most people, students and faculty alike, aren’t aware of this.

Mutation (if any):

Lazarus Mckay is one of the oldest men on Earth. He’s lost track of his age, as he figures it doesn’t even really matter anymore. He laughed when Highmauve offered him tenure.

What he Teaches:

Dr, McKay is the History Department Head. He tends to teach upper level history classes, graduate thesis classes, and independent research courses. He’s very rarely seen by anyone lower than a junior, but everyone still knows of him due to his incredibly popular language classes. Every so often, when he has a free hour or so a semester, he opens a language class in which he teaches any language the class is willing to learn rather than just the usual options. Highmauve is home then to students fluent in ancient languages, dead languages, and even fictional ones (one semester they had convinced him to teach them Tolkien Elvish).

He keeps regular office hours and is always open to helping students brave enough to see past his ruthless grading, intense teaching style, and resting bitch face (as his husband had so lovingly put it), with whatever they need, even things from other classes.

Detailed Physical Description:

Sam is a large man with well-defined musculature and an easy grace. His eyes are a deep green like the forest in shade and his skin is a dark brown. His thick, black, and unruly hair is usually done up in a loose bun. Out of the bun, it's stupid long; he hasn't cut it in a long while. His body is a map of his life; it’s covered in hundreds of scars, some deep, some dramatic, others small and hardly noticeable. Some of the most impressive are a series of bullet wounds through his left shoulder and torso that he earned in the second world war.  He’s sensitive to light and tends to wear tinted glasses. His favorites are a pair of round, pink tinted lenses surrounded by warm gold frames.

The more he uses his mutation, the more his appearance changes into something much less human.

Decay Manipulation. He can halt and accelerate the decay state of any living or nonliving being, including himself. He’s stopped his own some time ago and the only other thing he’s set in a state of non-decay has been his favorite cat. Setting something in a permanent state takes a whole lot out of him, and it can take him years to recover. Temporary manipulation is less costly on him and can be used in a variety of practical purposes.

Due to his association with mushrooms, their poisons won’t kill him. He’ll get sick, but it won’t kill him.

Detailed Physical Description: Taylor’s a tall and wiry young man, with almost too much leg in comparison to the rest of him. Despite his attitude, he bears a striking resemblance to Lazarus McKay with his platinum grey hair and bright blue eyes. He’s got an easy smile and wide eyes, making him seen like less of the smart bastard that he is. Red high tops, dark jeans, and a purple hooded sweatshirt with a button up shirt underneath is his go to outfit. Whether or not he’s got glasses on is dependant on his mood. He needs them to read, but refuses to admit it.

Personality: Taylor is violently optimistic  with a drive and ambition fueled by an intense need to do good in whatever way he can. If doing good causes a little collateral, well, so be it. He’s smarter than he should be, cunning when he wants to be, and possesses a seemingly boundless store of nervous energy. Taylor gets attached to those he likes quickly and deeply, forming strong loyalties at what seems like the drop of a hat. Fiercely loyal, he’ll defend those he’s chosen to his end. Beneath it all, he’s an anxious perfectionist with a penchant for procrastination. He moves from subject to subject within his chosen field to stave off boredom, TA-ing in English, History, Ancient Languages, etc.

He’s got a tiny Fiat parked in a garage near his apartment that he seldom ever drives.

Mutation (if any): Taylor possesses a very flashy form of telekinesis. Hardly subtle, any motion or action he performs with it leaves behind a bright neon blue trail of light. He also seems to have inherited a superhuman durability from his uncle’s side of the family, which is fortunate as he tends to throw himself face first into any sort of danger or violence.

Detailed Physical Description: Qamar takes after Sam: dark skin littered with freckles; long, thick dark brown hair that's usually pushed back with some sort of bandanna or headband, and a penchant for sunglasses no matter indoors or out. His eyesight is even more sensitive though. Qamar hates light in general and anything above total darkness is uncomfortable. Described before as ‘floral punk’, Qamar has a collection of floral print button ups which he usually pairs with some sort of dark jean, soft pastel t shirt, and his favorite pair of studded boots. His arms are covered in two gorgeous patterns of different flowers and leaves, and he’s got a mess of piercings; some visible, some not. His favorites are the back dermal piercings that trace from his neck to mid back.

Personality: Qamar is tired. He’s tired of life, of people, of sunlight and noise and too much motion. But, it’s a very low key pessimism that he possesses, more of constant background noise to his everyday. Qamar doesn’t tend to make personal connection very easily and even when he does, he tends to keep them at arm’s length. That being said, he’ll hold onto the attachments he has long after they’ve outlived their purpose. New phone? The old one’s fine. New friends? Too much work, the old ones are just great. He’s slow to anger, easy in temper, and remarkably nonplussed in most situations.

When he does drive, Qamar has a fondness for Kawasaki motorcycles. He’s got a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R parked out back the floral shop underneath a tarp.

Mutation (if any): Qamar has a version of Sam’s mutation. Unlike Lazarus’s side of the family where mutations are relatively common, Sam’s particular mutation only manifests itself once every couple of generations and even then, it’s a kaleidoscope of different looking forms and specific powers.

She’s sharp in every sense of the word: sharp witted, sharp tongued,  sharply dressed, sharp like the razor’s edge of a knife and dangerous in the same way. Her pale white hair is cropped short but stylishly and she prefers sliver in her jewelry. Everything she wears tends to be polished and expensive, dripping with the power she possesses and the wealth that follows her success.

Personalty: Jo is business. She has no time for anything save her work, her family, and her family’s gossip. She prides herself in her knowledge, her ability to know what’s going on in the city at any given time, and her appearance. She throws herself into her passions whether than be her work or anything else. She can be terrifying when she wants  to be and has absolutely no qualms about stepping over those whom she deems without pride, honor, or dignity. Jo takes care of her own, and is fiercely protective of those she sees as hers.

She and Qamar hang out the most, with her paying for most of their outings. Qamar was the one who taught her how to drive a motorcycle and even helped her pick out her own.

Mutation (if any): Jo’s specific power is unknown. She is definitely long lived, having been on this earth for near a hundred years and not looking a day past thirty, but past that, it’s unknown if she can die. She’s the closest to Laz’s actual mutation in a long time, so anything’s possible.

Detailed Physical Description: Ann is a stocky woman. Medium length brown hair shot through with grey  is often tied back for her work, and she nevers feels strongly enough to dye it all one color. She’s got her life written in her face; wrinkles, smile lines, scars, and dimples all tell the story of her still young life. She’s built but in a practical sort of way. She’s more than capable of running after bad guys and wrestling them to the ground, and her keen blue eyes can line up a shot from an impressive distance. She prefers pants to skirts, though you can catch her in some lovely swishy skirts on formal occasions; her daughter loves them.

Personality: Ann is the mom of the cousins, almost in a literal way. She’s checks in on them regularly, makes sure they’re safe and eating well, makes sure they’re happy, organizes dinners for them when they’re all free. An excellent cook, she usually ends up making the main course and most of the side dishes while Jo usually brings the wine, Qamar the table decorations, and Taylor the vegetable platter. She loves Shoris when he starts coming around, he brings fantastic desserts. Ann has a tendency to focus on her work almost to the detriment of everything else, a habit which she’s trying to break. She possesses a strong moral code, keen eye for pattern, and an extreamly sharp mind.

Mutation (if any): Ann is superhumanly durable, having taken bullets and blasts that would have crippled or killed others. It’s unknown the extent of her power, but she’s had bullets point blank tear through her chest and been fine after maybe a week. If Jo’s power is the passive version of not dying, Ann’s is actively saying ‘fuck you’ to the grave.

Detailed Physical Description: Shoris teaches self defense classes on the weekends, and he looks it. He’s stocky with a body that looks like he spends most of his free time tossing people around in an educational sense. He’s dark skinned with thick dreads that he normally ties back into a sort of ponytail, and warm dark brown eyes. He carries himself with confidence, like he knows he’s untouchable.

Shoris is also a chemistry grad student with a part time job working the library counter, and he certainly looks it. Dark half moon circles frame the undersides of his eyes underneath large round glasses, he prefers any clothing that’s supernaturally soft, and is incredibly intelligent. He often forgets that not everyone is three degrees into chemistry like he is, and will make jokes that only he thinks are funny. He’s fond of quiet nights in and a certain man he’s been crushing on since taking a required Ancient Languages class where he was the TA.

Mutation (if any): Shoris can manifest objects from the air around him. The more familiar he is with the object’s makeup, the stronger the manifestation. They tend to last only a few minutes before they disappear in a flicker of light.  He’s really good at axes.
